Police have shot dead a man who was threatening a woman with a knife at a house in north London.

Officers were called to Shepperton Road, Islington, shortly after 23:00 BST on Thursday and found a 40-year-old man threatening a woman.
A police negotiator and firearms officers were called. Shortly before 01:00 BST on Friday a number of shots were fired at the man by police.
He was pronounced dead en route to hospital, Scotland Yard said.
The woman was unharmed but is being treated for shock.
It is believed the man and woman were known to each other, the Met Police said.
