Man, 32, Remanded For Allegedly Being In Possession Of Pistol

n Osogbo Magistrates Court in Osun on Thursday remanded one Olalekan Oluwajuyigbe, 32, in prison custody for allegedly being in possession of a locally made pistol.

The Magistrate, Mr Adebayo Lasisi, who gave the order, directed that the accused be remanded in prison custody because of the nature of the offence.
The Prosecutor, ASP Mireti Wilson, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 15 at about midday during a stop and search operation in Ilesa.
Wilson said the accused could not give the police any satisfactory explanation about how he got the pistol.
He said the offence committed by the accused, contravened Section 4 and 27(1) (a) of the Fire Arm Act Cap F28, Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2004.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Lasisi adjourned further hearing in the case to Oct. 14. (NAN)
