Strike Continues: Nigerian Doctors Are Not Returning To Work Despite Ebola Crisis
News broke yesterday that the organization had suspended the industrial action because of Ebola
Despite reports to the contrary,the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has not suspended itsongoing strike.
Reports had it yesterday that the doctors hadstopped the industrial action to handle the incursion of the Eboladisease into Nigeria.
However the Secretary-General of the NMA,Adewumni Alayaki, has stated that the strike is far from over.
Hesaid:
“The strike continues until the federal government bringsback an appropriate proposal to solve the industrial conflict,”
Thenation’s public sector doctors have been on strike for the past 5weeks and they have voiced their intention to continue the action until their demandsare met.
