An Act Of Frustration? Couple Set Holy Bible On Fire In Delta State


It was gathered that the couple became disillusioned; claiming that God had abandoned them after several prophets told them that the Lord was totally fed up of their Christian practice

A married couple, Benson Ogwu and his wife reportedly set ablaze the holy bible in front of their apartment in Bonssac quarters, Asaba, Delta state.
Reports say the couple had been married for 16 years without a child and became frustrated with their situation and obviously angry at God made the decision to burn their bibles.
Their action caused passers-by to gather round the scene and watch the couple whose high expectation of getting a baby became shattered when a prophet told them they had a delay in having children because they were far from God.
It was gathered that the couple became disillusioned; claiming that God had abandoned them after several prophets told them that the Lord was totally fed up of their Christian practice.
The couple also sought the assistance of some native doctors, who reportedly lured them into serving his idol popularly known as Onishe where they wereassured they would have children within three years.
The couple were married in the Catholic Church which they left for a popular Pentecostal church where they accused the pastor of raising false prophesies.
