Fire Outbreak: Ketu Police Stations Armoury Razed

There was pandemonium at the Alapere Police Station in Ketu area of Lagos, as a result of a major fire outbreak that gutted the weapon store of the station..

Our correspondent gathered that the fire which occurred yesterday afternoon started from the arsenal of the station consuming the weapons.
As the fire billowed and spread to other sections of the station, witnesses said there were several explosions from the arms store fuelling the inferno at the station.
Eye witness said it took the intervention of the Lagos State Fire Service to stop the fire from spreading to other sections of the police station.
The Lagos State fire service responded with two trucks to put out the fire
Police officials who restricted movement of people to the station declined to comment on the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos state Police Command, DSP Ngozi Braid, who was contacted for confirmation said she has not been briefed on the incident but promised to find out and get back.
Meanwhile , a police officer at the station who spoke on condition of anonymity, told newsmen they were still investigating the cause of the fire incident.
