CULTISM: Police Fault Report On Killing Of 3 Students

Authorities of the Bayelsa State Police Command yesterday faulted the reported killing of three students of the State owned Niger Delta University in Wilberforce Island of Ammassoma community in Southern Ijaw Area of the State.
According to the Police, though the cult clash occurred outside the campus of the Niger Delta University, two students suspected to be cultists were not killed but sustained machete cuts on the head and arm.
The Bayelsa State Police Command, through its spokesman, Mr.Alex Akhigbe, said no killing took place in the school.
The report was false, unfounded and lack merit. It is a calculated attempt to cause apprehension and incite students against the school authority.
Akhigbe said the cult clash between AY Vagas cult groups, which the report alluded to happened outside NDU campus and not inside examination hall. One of the cultist sustained machete cut injury on his forehead, while in another clash, 100 level student had his palm severed. No live was lost in the two cult related incident.
The reported killing, is to say the least, misguided, unfounded and lacks merit. It was a calculated attempt to cause apprehension and incite students against the school authority and the government of the State.
