Anambra entertainers to revive night life


The Association of Anambra State Entertainment Practitioners (AASEP), comprising  Nollywood actors, musicians, comedians, stage performers, masters of ceremonies, dancers and footballers as well as disc jockies to mention but a few, at the end of its general congress, resolved to revive night life in Anambra State.
The association lamented that night life was at point zero in the state, saying everywhere was dull at dawn, vowing to restore the night life in the state through grand events.
The meeting held at the VIP lounge, Nourisha Restuarant, beside Golfins Hotels, Awka, was attended by Professor Laz Ekwueme, traditional ruler of Oko as the royal father of the day and member of the Board of Trusty of the association.
The association resolved to organise four events in the state that would revive night life and create about ten thousand (10,000) jobs and to bury their three members, Amaka Igwe, Ozoemena Nsugbe and Lizzy Ogbodo ,who died recently in a grand way,  adding that it would soon host a programme in partnership with  Governor Willie Obiano government to honour Anambra stars and crown its ambassadors.
The entertainers resolved to be united and always speak with one voice at all times, and to support Governor Willie Obiano in the fight against crime and in his plans to secure the state to ensure night life was  restored in the state for fun.
AASEP, in its 8-point communique signed by the National Sectary of the association, Stanley Chira, at the end of the meeting , resolved as follows:-
“Having observed that Governor Willie Obiano is doing everything possible to make sure that our state is secured and urbanized, through  AASEP, we will partner with the state to bring fun, jobs to the state.
We will create programmes such as using Awka as movie making centre, thereby creating enormous jobs for the citizens.
-We will attract fun seekers who will be coming to the state to attend any of the numerous programmes AASEP is planning for the state including live music performances, making movies very often in various town holding jams from time to time in places  and bringing the state first class entertainers from outside the state and within the state.
-For the great insight of our governor and his commitment to job creation for the state, he will be made a Grand Patron of AASEP.
- AASEP must be fully represented at the burial of Icon, Amaka Igwe, participate actively at the burial of Ozomena Nsugbe who is our member posthumously and also participate actively during the burial of Lizzy Ogbodo.
-AASEP has designed a programne for which it will partner with the government to honor our stars and crown them Ambassadors for The State.
-AASEP, through her project  ‘Anambra Gat Talent’, is set to create over 10,000 jobs for the youths in the state.
-We must hold four great earth-shaking events this year in Anambra State that will make the nation to start seeing Anambra State as the centre of entertainment and the programmes are Anambra Gat Talent, Anambra Entertainment Trust Fund Project, AASEP Entertainment Award and Anambra Film/Musical Festival.
The communique concluded that AASEP would honor  members that brought honour to the state during  the award held in Bayelsa, including Clarion Chukwura, who won the best Actress, Bod Manuel Udokwu won the best Face, Teco Benson who won the best movie in Nollywood and Tai Obosi who was the runners up for the best scrip writer.
