Boko Haram sponsors? Arewa wants Sheriff and Ihejirika probed

The Arewa Consultative Forum has called for a probe of former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Azubuike Ihejirika, over their alleged sponsorship of Islamist militant group, Boko Haram.

Speaking in Kaduna, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed, Arewas spokesman said the forum wanted President Goodluck Jonathan to inaugurate a panel that will probe the allegations levelled by the Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis, against Sheriff, Ihejirika and others, immediately.
The group who lamented on the reoccurrence of bloodshed and terror attacks in the North-East, and North Central of Nigeria, blamed the Federal Government (FG) for not taking serious measures to tackle insurgencies in the country.
It also backlashed on the FG for the inability to rescue the abducted Chibok girls in Borno State, after 150 days; accusing the government of not taking serious measures to ensure the rescue of the girls.
Arewa demanded that insurgents be confronted decisively.
