Police Arrest Man For Defiling 9-year-old In Nasarawa

Following what it described as a renewed strategy aimed at curtailing the rising level of incessant robbery and other forms of crime, the Nasarawa State police command yesterday paraded four robbery suspects and one suspect who defiled a 9-year-old.

The command also recovered 11 rounds of live ammunition, two locally made pistols, two single barrel guns, two sets of uniforms and one police belt.
According to the police public relations officer, Ismaila Numan, the police also arrested four suspects of a five man robbery gang armed with guns who attacked the state deputy secretary of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
Based on a tip off, one Ezekiel Inuwa of Gidan Zakara was arrested by detectives attached to Uke police division for defiling the 9-year-old and has confessed to committing the offence, the case the police spokesman said is being investigated and the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
Inuwa told reporters at the state criminal investigation department that he had defiled his victim on only four occasions saying the girl lured him into the act.
The 36-year-old father of three, who said he was pushed by the devil to commit the offence denied that the act had links with any fetish conditions as been insinuated.
Numan appreciated members of the public for being supportive of the police in terms of providing information which has led to the success being recorded by the command.
