Tinubu condemns Kaduna blast, happy for Buharis safety

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the twin blast that rocked Kaduna state earlier today, describing it as terror upon the country.

Tinubu also condemned the second attack which was targeted at former head of state and APC leader Muhammadu Buhari. Tinubu expressed his feelings on his Twitter account and commiserated with the families of those that lost their lives and in blast.

The multiple bomb attack today on Gen. Buhari confirms that our county is in the grip of terror. I condemn it the strongest terms, the former Lagos state governor wrote.

Kaduna state government confirmed that Buhari was the target of the second bomb attack in Kaduna on Wednesday. Buhari, who also led Nigeria as a military head of state in the 1980s, was the target of the bombing in the Kawo area of the city, said Ahmed Maiyaki, the spokesman for Kadunas governor.

Buhari came runner-up to President Goodluck Jonathan in Nigerias 2011 election and is a leading member of the new opposition mega-party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Boko Haram Islamists, who have been blamed for the twin bombings in Kaduna on Wednesday that killed at least 42 people, have made direct threats on Buharis life.
Islamist leader Abubakar Shekau has branded him a traitor to Islam for accepting democratic rule.
