Pastor, Woman Arrested After Holy Water Kills 2 In Delta

A pastor and a woman are presently cooling their heels at a Delta state police station after they were arrested over allegations of killing 2 children with the use of holy water.

The substance, which was sold at N1850 to people was sold with the hope of curing people of various ailments and diseases.
While confirming the story, Delta state police command spokesman, DSP Clementina Kalu said that the suspects are in custody helping out with useful information.

According to Kalu, on Friday, July 25, 2014 at about 4.00 am, the Police at Abraka Police Station received information that a woman, Ese Oghenevwe (25), of Urhuoka quarters, Abraka had killed her two sons namely, Prayer Clement (9 months) and Wisdom Clement ( 2 years) by giving them a liquid substance to drink.
Based on the information, detectives arrested the said Ese Oghenevwe. The suspect revealed that the substance was given to her by one Apostle Austin Eduviere of Triumphant World International Church, Abraka for healing purposes as the Apostle claimed he had prayed over it.
Meanwhile, the said Apostle Austine Eduviere has also been arrested and he is helping the Police in their investigation. The suspect disclosed that the said substance was a mixture of water and salt which he sold to people for N1,850.00 for healing of various sicknesses after praying for them.
Police nab car theft
Relatedly, the Police has also recovered a stolen car and apprehended one suspect at Abraka Division.
Kalu said: On Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at about 10,00 am, a patrol team from Abraka Division, while on stop-and-search duty at Police station junction, Abraka intercepted a Toyota Camry car, with number plate LAGOS LSD 264 AC with two occupants.
Immediately the vehicle stopped, one of the suspects alighted and took to his heels while the other, later identified as Akpos Omote, was arrested. The suspect has confessed that they snatched the car from one Mrs. Jane Esegbe at Udu, in Udu Local Government Area of Delta state.
The said Toyota Camry has been recovered to the station, while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect. She added.
