Gunmen Kill Health Technology Lecturer

Unknown gunmen at the weekend killed a lecturer, Ishiaku Garba at his residence in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The victim who lectures with Shehu Idris College of Health Technology, Makarfi, was, according to family sources, killed at about 9pm on Saturday at his Kinkinau GRA residence shortly after returning from Asham prayers.

The source disclosed that Mallam Garba rushed home to attend to a call from his family member that some visitors were waiting for him, but unknown to him, the visitors turned out to be the gunmen who had gained entrance to his house and held his wife ransom, seized her phone which was used to place the call after collecting unspecified amount of money and other valuables from the wife.

Mallam Ishiaku ran into the ambush situation and was made to surrender his phone and money before he was finally shot dead by the assailants in his room.

It would be recalled that just last week, the General Manager of the New Democrat, a Kaduna- based newspaper, Uztaz Yunus, was also killed at his residence by yet- to- be identified gunmen.

Meanwhile, the District Head of Ungwan Muazu and Cikasauron Zazzau, Alh Ahmed Aliyu Idris, while confirming the incident of the killed lecturer, described it as unfortunate the way and manner human life is devalued.
